Look within to see beyond. Look beyond to see within

The 2017 edition of the Arctic Yoga Conference opens up space for reflection, insight and deepening of our inner wisdom. Enjoy good conversations, community, learning, and of course lots of wonderful and inspirational yoga practice! Some of the workshops and yoga classes will run twice, allowing for participation in larger parts of the program. We will have common lunch breaks with the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal from the hotel’s fantastic Yoga Lunch Buffet. And, the view from the rooms has become even better than before <3

We are working on finalizing the program for the whole weekend, and more information will be available shortly. We are looking forward to sharing more of the AYC 2017 treasure chest with you in the days leading up to the yoga conference!

This year we wish to focus on how yoga is more than merely a physical and formal practice on the yoga mat, and how it is just as much an approach to health and everyday life. We have the pleasure of presenting some highly skilled and inspiring yoginis, teachers and lecturers who have immersed themselves in the wisdom and life of yoga.

Dr. Karin Mæland

Yoga Philosophy and practice

Karin has written two books that were published a few months ago: Yoga philosophy for the heart with Basia Lipska, and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra with Hanne Tharaldsen. Make sure to bring your own copies – or buy one at the venue, for a signature. Karin is the first to offer Norwegian translations of these amazing yogic texts. We look immensely forward to her philosophical workshops, Ashtanga practice and mantra chanting!

Prof. Silje C. Wangberg

Yoga Therapy

Silje is a health psychologist and professor in public health, with a burning interest in yoga as health behavior. She is currently immersing in Viniyoga with Gary Kraftsow, founder of Yoga Therapy, and she will share both practice and an exciting overview of the field of yoga research.


Jessica Winderl

Ayurveda and lifestyle

Jessica lives yoga, and is specialized in Ayurveda as a method. Ayurveda is an approach to health and healing, with an integrative perspective on human beings. Jessica will share her expertise with us through in-depth workshops, and on top of that we are soo looking forward to her cheerful and unique vinysa classes!

Marije Paternotte

Yin Yoga and mindfulness

Marije har studert yin yoga med Sarah Powers, og mindfulness med Sharon Salzenberg, og har gått veien fra å være jurist i et stort selskap til å bli yogalærer på fulltid. Hun underviser over hele verden, og har vært flere ganger i Bodø. Vi ser frem til årets gjensyn!

Marije has studied yin yoga with Sarah Powers, and mindfulness with Sharon Salzenberg, and she has gone all the way from being a lawyer in a big company to becoming a full-time yoga teacher. She teaches around the world and has been to Bodø several times. We can’t wait to practice with Marije again in June!
